Mayday March - Sunday 5th May 2013

The Annual Mayday March will take place in Glasgow on Sunday 5th June 2013.

The assembly point for 2013 May Day March will be George Square.  The March will assemble at 11.30am, marching off at 12 noon.  The route of the March is leaving George Square,  left to St Vincent Place, St Vincent Street, left to Renfield Street, Union Street, Jamaica Street, cross the Glasgow Bridge onto Bridge Street, Eglington Street arriving at the O2 Academy.
The order of assembly will follow the May Day tradition of
·        Trades Councils / STUC
·        Trade Unions / IWA
·        Community Organisations
·        Political Parties

The rally will be held in the O2 Academy, Eglinton Street in the Gorbals.  
The rally will begin at 12.30.  The Speakers confirmed so far are;
·        Tommy Gorman Carer Learning Disability Alliance Scotland
·        Neil Findlay MSP
·        Lillian Macer convenor of UNISON Scotland
·        Alvaro Sanchez the Political Counsellor from the Venezuelan Embassy
·        No2Bedroom Tax
Music will be provided by Arthur Johnstone and Friends.
A large variety of stalls and some childrens activities will be available in the Main Hall.  Refreshments will be served and a fully licensed bar will be provided in the Main Hall.
May Day T-shirts’ and Posters will be available to buy in the Main Hall.
